FUSION is an annual conference aimed at scientists and engineers working in all aspects of information and data fusion. Authors are requested to submit contributions on both the theory and application of information fusion, with submissions on non-traditional topics being encouraged. At least two reviewers will review all submitted papers. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, to be available at the conference site. The conference will also feature plenary talks and tutorials on topics of interest.

Submission Instructions

Regular Papers:

Submission Process. Full papers are required by the due date of 1 February 2003 for
review by the technical program committee. Each paper should include an address for
correspondence (including phone, fax, and email). All papers should be submitted
electronically in PDF or PS format. Each paper should be a maximum of 8 pages, adhering to the style guides. In addition, a 100-150 word abstract identifying the topic area, the
significance of the problem and its contribution to the relevant topic area should be
submitted.

Paper Acceptance. Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and scientific
soundness. Each paper will be refereed by 2-3 researchers. Notification of accepted papers
will be made by 1 April 2003. Following notification, authors must submit updated papers in
final form and send their Copyright Forms no later than 15 May 2003. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and CD-ROM, to be available at the Conference.

Note: Printed proceedings will be in black and white only. Colour will only be visible on CD-ROM version. Organiser reserves the right to reject submissions of PDF files which are too big - the whole proceedings has to fit on one CD ROM.

Special Sessions:
Proposals for special sessions on advanced and state-of-the-art topics in information fusion area are also solicited. A special session is one that takes a particular theme and is organized by an individual (the proposer) separate from the technical program committee.

Instructions for Submitting Special Session Proposals.
1. Session organizers are expected to submit a one paragraph theme for their session with a list of paper titles, paper abstracts, authors and their contact information. This should be submit to the electronic submission page for special sessions no later than 15 February 2003. Formatting of papers submitted must be the identical to formatting of regular papers.

2. A special session will consist of 4 (or a multiple of four, e.g.4, 8 or16) papers. The technical committe reserves the right to reject the proposed special session, if the number of papers are less than three. If the session is rejected due to lack of numbers, the papers will be considered for inclusion in the standard program.

3. A notification of acceptance for special sessions will be sent to proposers by 28 February 2003. The technical committe reserves the right to reject some papers or entire special sessions if their quality is below an acceptable standard.

4. If a session is accepted, the proposer is responsible for reviewing the contributed papers and for submitting all final camera-ready papers in the session by 30 May 2003. The proposers for special sessions are encouraged to use the services of the program commitee for the review process for quality assurance.

Student Paper Program:
Fusion 2003 will feature a Student Paper Program to encourage the involvement of young engineers and scientists in the research and development of information fusion. Details of the student program will be available on the conference web site.
