Oral Presentations
Each oral presentation has been allocated 20 minutes. Presentation of your
slides should take about 15 minutes. The rest of the time will be easily
taken up with the introduction, summary and questions from the audience.
Surrogate presenters must be sufficiently familiar with the material being presented to answer questions from the floor.
All presentation rooms will be equipped with a laptop computer and data projector, an overhead project, microphone, lecturn and a laser pointer.
Authors who wish to present their work electronically should save their files onto a floppy disk or CD in advance. Acceptable file formats are PDF (.pdf), Postscript (.ps) or Powerpoint (.ppt or .pps).
All authors should meet with their Session Chair in the break immediately before their session. Talks that are to be presented electronically should be loaded onto the supplied laptop at this time.
If an author wishes to present their work using their own equipment rather than the laptop supplied, it is their responsibility to ensure their laptop works with the supplied data projector before the start of the session.
Poster Presentations
For your poster, a board will be provided with a usable area that measures
2.4m wide x 1.2m high. You will be provided with the means to attach your
poster to the board (push tacks will be provided).
Prepare a short presentation of about 5 to 10 minutes that you can periodically give to those assembled around your poster. Plan on giving this talk several times during the poster session. You are expected to stand by your poster during the breaks on Wednesday, 9th.
If possible, more than one author should attend the session to aid in presentations and discussions, and to provide the presenters with the chance to rest or briefly view other posters.
