Fusion
2002 is featuring a Student Paper Program to encourage the involvement
of young engineers and scientists in the development of information fusion.
A student paper is any paper for which a student is the principal author
and primary contributor. Based upon the results of the regular review
process, up to fifteen student papers will be accepted into the student
paper program.
Features of the student program are as follows:
- The principal author
will present accepted papers in a special session devoted to student
contributions.
- Conference registration
fees, which include one free banquet ticket and a CD-ROM of the conference
proceedings, will be waived for the principal author of each student
paper. In addition, travel expenses of the principal author up to $500.00
will be granted to the student by the conference.
- The principal author
of each student paper will receive free admission to his/her choice
of one of the conference tutorials.
- One of the student
papers will be selected for the best student paper award. The principal
author of the winning paper will present the paper orally at a conference
luncheon and will be awarded a certificate and a $250 prize.
To be eligible, the
principal author of a paper must be an active student at an accredited
college, university, or technical institute. While the student should
be the primary contributor to the paper, co-authors are permitted and
need not be students. ISIF membership is not required.
Proposed paper summaries and papers must be submitted in accordance with
the procedures in the conference Call
for Papers (CFP). The CFP also provides additional details on areas
of interest. Submissions should state clearly that the paper is submitted
for consideration under the Student Paper Program along with a letter
from principal author's department or degree program indicating that he/she
is a student. The summaries and papers will be reviewed for acceptance,
and the author notified of the outcome, according to the same procedures
applied to regular submissions.
